Repo Auctions typically sell for much less the retail. Often these discounts can be as high as 50 to 80 percent. You can to look for and buy RVs that have no major pre-existing problems. Also avoid motorhomes that have been lived in, smoked in or have pet odors. Typically newer foreclosed motor home are better deals and many may still be covered under the original manufacturers warranty.

There are 3 places you can go to find out when and where these rv repo auctions are occurring. First, you can try asking local dealers of dealership owners. Be friendly and see how far that gets you. Second, sometimes rv auctions are advertised in rev classifieds or in local newspapers. Thirdly, you could check with banks or local credit unions. This may be a little harder either because the bank is large and you are not talking to the right person or because they have a hard time admitting they issue bad loans.

Each auction has a slightly different set of rules. Try to learn what the rules ahead of time. Also learn whether it is a silent or a live auction and whether pre registration is required to bid. Also it is important to know if the rv auction must be purchased with cash or if time is allowed to get financing. Most motorhome or RVs sold at auction are sold in as-is condition.

With newer motor homes, find out if their are any existing factory warranties that can be transferred to the new buyer. Most motor home sold for cheap at auctions do not come with warranties because they are sold in as- in condition. Find out before you bid whether or not the motorhome is still under factory warranty.

You may have to go to a few auctions, but hopefully it will not take you very long to find the motor home repo you want at the auction price you can afford!
