What Is A Diesel Particulate Filter?
The popular name of diesel particulate filter is ‘DPF’. DPF is a machine which is fitted in the diesel engine to clear all sort of diesel particulate, which we call the soot. With a single use of DPF you can clear almost 85% of the unwanted soot from your engine diesel.

Have you ever seen a vacuum cleaner? Well we all have seen how a vacuum cleaner works, DPF works in the same way. There are basically 2 types of DPF machine, one is the traditional form of DPF machine and the other is the modern DPF machine. In the auto cleaning option the soot automatically gets burnt while you the drive the engine. Basically when the filter of DPF gets 45% filled with the unwanted soot it indicates to the ECU (which is the brain of the car). The moment the ECU detects the DPF filter it starts making the exhaust hotter and thus finally the soot is burnt out automatically.
However, if the auto cleaning does not work properly then all you need to do is drive the car for nearly 10 minutes at a speed of minimum 40mph. Thus, once you drive the car the exhaust will get heated and it will surely burn off the soot.
The traditional diesel particulate filters are more affordable than the modern version of DPF machine. But in case of the traditional DPF machine you need take care of the filter and make sure that you clear the filter very often. If you do not wash the filter of traditional DPF machine at a regular interval than the unwanted soot will completely ruin your filter and in order to replace the filter you might have to spend a lot of money.
So, forget all the unwanted soot deposits and get the modern DPF machine and save the environment from the unwanted smoke emission.
